A Goldendoodle Waited While the Kittens Climbed Into the Wheelbarrow
An apricot Goldendoodle sits next to a dented galvanized wheelbarrow, his curly face lifted and his tongue out in a gentle smile. In the wheelbarrow, on a soft blue blanket, a litter of kittens sit in a group: ginger, black, gray tabby and cream, looking out with bright eyes. Behind them a basket of laundry, a plant and a bag sit in a bright doorway. The afternoon light makes the dog's curls glow like honey.
We might call the dog Biscuit. He looks like a proud driver, and the kittens look like passengers on a very slow bus. Everyone seems ready to go. It is a story of friendship and teamwork.
Goldendoodles are friendly, social dogs that are a cross of the Golden Retriever and the Poodle. They are usually smart and eager to please, and they need regular exercise and grooming. Many get along well with cats and kittens when they are introduced properly. A wheelbarrow with a soft blanket can make a charming spot for a photo, but in real life, keep kittens secure so they cannot hop out and run away, and never leave them unattended. Make sure the wheelbarrow is clean and free of sharp edges. Ask your vet about vaccines and parasite prevention.
Biscuit and the kittens look ready for a slow ride around the yard. Perhaps they will take a little trip around the garden.
