A Shih Tzu and a Piglet Had the Best Seat for the Storm
Rain is tapping the window, and the best seat in the house has a view. A gold and white Shih Tzu sits on a knitted blanket with his head turned toward the glass, dark eyes round and curious, his soft fur a little ruffled. Right beside him, a pink piglet leans against the blanket with her snout toward the window, watching the drops race down the pane. A potted plant and a tangle of clothes are tucked into the corner of the room.
Shih Tzus were bred long ago as companions, and they still seem to love nothing better than sitting near their people and watching the world. They are generally affectionate, adaptable, and happy in smaller spaces. Their long coats need regular brushing, and their eyes can be sensitive, so it helps to wipe the face gently and keep the hair out of their eyes. On rainy days, indoor activities such as gentle play, puzzle feeders, or a window perch keep both dogs and pigs entertained. A vet can recommend good enrichment for a young pig.
We will call the piglet Pearl. She is not really sure what rain is, but the Shih Tzu seems very interested, so she is too. The two of them watch every droplet, shoulders touching, while the sky stays grey. Somewhere outside it is wet and chilly. Inside, there is a soft blanket, a good view, and a friend.
