A Spotted Dog and a Pink Piglet Took Over the Porch Hammock
A cream rope hammock sways slightly on the back porch, and inside it, two friends are fast asleep. A Dalmatian lies curled with her spotted head resting on her paw, eyes shut tight. Beside her, a pink piglet has her snout buried in the weave, little ears drooping. Rubber boots and a watering can stand on the porch below, and fallen leaves have drifted across the boards.
Dalmatians love a snooze after a long day of activity, and a gently swaying hammock is a natural fit. Hammocks can be a lovely rest spot for pets, but they need to be sturdy and hung at a low height so that no one gets hurt jumping out. Check the ropes for wear, and never leave animals unattended in a hammock where they might get tangled. Pigs also sleep deeply and snore, and as a piglet grows, she will need much more room than a hammock can offer. A vet can advise about what size and type of bed is best for your pet pig.
We will call the piglet Pearl. She has no idea that the rope bed is swinging, because she is sound asleep. The Dalmatian lets out one big sigh, shifting her spots a little closer. Somewhere in the garden, a breeze rustles the leaves, and the hammock rocks gently back and forth as the afternoon slips by.
