A Saint Bernard Became the Softest Bed for a Cinnamon Cat
There's a lot of Saint Bernard to go around, and one small cat has claimed a good portion of it. The big dog stretches out on a woven rug with his head resting on the floor and his soft brown eyes calm. Curled on his side, a cinnamon Abyssinian sleeps with her paws tucked under her. The room around them looks lived in, with a plant on a table and a knit blanket on the bed.
Saint Bernards are giant dogs historically associated with mountain rescue. They are usually described as calm, patient, and good with children. Because of their size, they can overheat easily, so keep them cool and give them lots of fresh water. A vet can recommend the right exercise for such a large dog.
Abyssinians are lean, active cats with a ticked coat that glows like cinnamon. They are curious and playful, so seeing one fall asleep like this is a treat. It means she feels totally secure.
A huge dog and a slender cat make a funny pair, but this arrangement works well for both. The dog offers warmth and a steady rhythm of breathing, and the cat brings quiet company. Nobody needs more than that. The afternoon will go on, and the two will keep their peaceful position until something interesting finally wakes them.
