A Goldendoodle and a Flat-Faced Cat Napped Together in the Hay
A bed of straw is the best bed in the barn, and two friends are sound asleep on it. An apricot Goldendoodle lies with his curly coat the color of the hay itself, his face resting low and his eyes closed. Right beside him, a cream Exotic Shorthair sleeps with her flat, round face and her paws tucked in. A blue bin and a pair of boots sit against the wall behind them.
Goldendoodles are a cross between Golden Retrievers and Poodles. They're friendly, smart, and usually good with other pets, though each dog's personality may vary. Their curly coats need regular brushing to avoid matting, and they often love a good nap after play.
Exotic Shorthairs are quiet, sweet cats with a plush coat. They tend to be calm and affectionate, which makes them good companions for relaxed dogs. Because of their flat faces, they may need extra attention to their eyes and breathing, so visit your vet regularly.
Straw is a good, dry bedding, but keep an eye out for dust and anything sharp. Check that your pets have clean water nearby, too. For these two, the straw is soft, the barn is quiet, and the world has gone still. It's the kind of nap you just want to join. The barn has settled into silence around them, and the straw rustles only when one of them sighs.
