Two Chins on a Garden Bed and Nobody Was Saying a Word

AI imagesphynxpuppygarden

Two chins rest on the weathered wood of a raised garden bed. On the left, a grey hairless Sphynx cat with huge ears, wrinkled skin and amber eyes looks off to one side as if checking for trouble. On the right, Waffles has his head tilted, his paws draped over the board, and his eyes half shut. Below them, basil and young herbs grow in dark soil, and soft evening light glows over a fence.

Sphynx cats have little to no fur, so their skin takes the place of a coat. That means they can get cold quickly and may sunburn, so most are happiest as indoor cats with warm blankets. They often need regular baths and ear cleaning because oils collect on their skin. Talk to your vet about proper care for the breed. Sphynx cats are known to be affectionate, social and very curious, and they tend to seek out warm bodies, which may be why this one has settled so close to a puppy.

Out here in the garden, the cat and puppy are just a pair of neighbors leaning on a fence. The herbs are safe and the evening is mild, and both of them look ready to watch the day wrap up. It is hard to say which of them is more curious about the herbs, but both seem to be enjoying the view very much.
