A Fluffy White Dog and a Calf Fell Asleep Nose to Nose
Fluffy white fur meets a freckled brown-and-white coat in a nest of golden straw. The Samoyed lies curled up with his thick tail wrapped around him and his eyes closed in a gentle smile. Clover the calf lies nose to nose with him, her pink muzzle almost touching his black nose and her ears soft. Behind them, a weathered barn wall, a blue bucket and a warm yellow glow suggest a cool morning on the farm.
Samoyeds are known for their thick, white double coats and the famous Sammy smile, which comes from the upturned corners of their mouths. They were bred in cold regions to work and keep their families company, and they tend to be friendly and sociable. Their coats need regular brushing, especially during shedding season. Because they are so well insulated, Samoyeds can overheat in hot weather, so make sure there is shade and plenty of water nearby. Straw makes a cozy bed, but check that it is clean and dry, since damp straw can grow mold that is not good to breathe.
For now the barn is quiet, and the two sleepers are sharing the same slow breaths. The Samoyed looks like a cloud that decided to take a nap beside a calf. Nobody is in a rush to wake up. Even the straw seems to hold its breath so the pair can enjoy a little more sleep.
