The Bulldog Puppy and the Pony Wore the Exact Same Serious Look
Side by side at the wooden edge of a garden bed, a red and white Bulldog puppy and Pebble the little tan pony are looking in the same direction with the same serious expression. The puppy's wrinkled face is slightly raised, its droopy jowls hanging, while the pony's woolly forelock falls across one dark eye. Green seedlings, a gray sky and a farm fence stretch away behind them.
Bulldog puppies are sturdy, affectionate little dogs with a gentle, sometimes stubborn nature. Their short noses and wrinkled faces make them prone to overheating, so they should rest in the shade and avoid hard exercise on hot days. Skin folds should be kept clean and dry, which a vet can show you how to do. As for the pony, small ponies can be wonderful companions, but they need space, a steady supply of hay or grass and regular hoof care. Introduce a puppy and a pony slowly, and keep a leash on the dog until you know how they react.
The expression on both faces is priceless, like two old friends watching the neighbors from behind the fence. They seem to be waiting for something to sprout, or perhaps for lunch to appear. Nobody moves, nobody hurries, and the seedlings in the bed stay wisely out of reach. It is a calm, comical picture of friendship at its most patient.
