A Little Frenchie Took a Walk. His Parade of Followers Grew Fast.
The little Frenchie takes a firm step along the gravel path with his wrinkled brow and bat ears giving him the look of a very important guide. Behind him, seven yellow ducklings follow in single file, tiny paddle feet moving as fast as they can. An open door shows a cozy room with a houseplant and blanket, and a watering can, flowerpots and a pair of sandals line the porch. Midday light turns the gravel silver and gives the whole scene a bright, cheerful feel.
French Bulldogs are known for their big personalities, and many love being the center of attention. They are sociable and playful, but they are not built for long walks or heat, so short strolls in mild weather are best. Ducklings naturally follow the first moving thing they see after they hatch, a behavior called imprinting, which is why a line of babies might trail a dog or a person. Even so, they need a safe space away from hazards. Keep the walk short, watch the footing, and ask your vet about caring for ducklings and for flat-faced dogs.
The Frenchie does not seem to notice the entourage, or maybe he does and is simply pretending not to. Either way, the ducklings follow with total confidence, and the whole parade is off to a great start.
