The White Bulldog Walked Very Slowly With Six Kittens on His Back
The white Bulldog plods across the yard with his wrinkled brow and a thoughtful, slightly sideways look, and on his broad back sits a tumbling pile of six kittens. They are cream, black, calico, ginger and gray, packed together as though the dog were a moving sofa. The lawn is green with a few fallen leaves, and a gray fence, garden hose and potted plants stand in the background. The Bulldog moves slowly, as though he knows that his passengers are delicate.
Bulldogs are known for being calm, affectionate and a little stubborn, and they are often gentle with children and smaller pets. They are sturdy dogs, but their short noses make breathing hard, particularly in heat or after exercise, so short and slow strolls are best. A kitten riding on a dog is a funny image, but real kittens can fall and be hurt, so it is best left to pictures. If you want your dog and kittens to bond, let them rest together on a soft blanket, and always supervise. A vet can give guidance on safe introductions.
The Bulldog's walk seems patient and a little proud, and the kittens have the look of a crew that has found the perfect ride. Nobody is in a hurry, and the whole lawn is their route. It is a slow, sweet journey across the grass.
