The Golden Retriever Squeezed Into the Basket. Seven Kittens Made Room.
The Golden Retriever has folded herself into a wicker basket, her thick golden fur spilling over the rim and her soft brown eyes resting on the bundle in front of her. Nestled in the towels in the curve of her body, seven little kittens have found places to sleep, ginger, gray, calico, white and tuxedo. The towels are folded in gray and cream, and a sunny hallway glows behind them with a window, a plant and wooden floors. The look on her face is the very picture of gentle motherly patience.
Golden Retrievers are friendly, patient dogs, often described as gentle and eager to please. They are known to get along with children and other pets, and that makes them popular in families. A Golden's thick coat sheds a lot, and regular brushing helps keep fur out of kitten bedding. Newborn kittens need warmth and, ideally, their mother, so if you see kittens in need, ask a vet or a rescue organization for advice. A dog can be a loving companion for a litter, but always supervise, make sure the dog is gentle, and keep the kittens' bedding clean and dry.
The Golden looks like she has all the time in the world. The kittens sleep soundly in her warm curve, and it is hard to find a more peaceful way to spend a sunny afternoon.
