A Cream Persian Gave a Little Bunny the Smoothest Ride Across the Yard
It is the slowest, steadiest ride in the neighborhood. A fluffy cream Persian cat pads across a patchy lawn with her flat face held high and her amber eyes looking straight ahead, and perched on her back is a small grey lop-eared bunny, ears draped, balancing like a tiny passenger on a parade float. A wooden fence, a tipped clay pot and a coil of garden hose fill the yard behind them, and the afternoon light is soft.
Persian cats are famous for their calm, dignified personalities. They tend to prefer a quiet household and a predictable routine, and they are generally gentle and affectionate with their people. Their long, thick coats need daily brushing to prevent mats, and their flat faces mean they benefit from regular eye cleaning and may be more sensitive in hot weather.
In real life, rabbits should not ride on cats. A rabbit has a fragile spine, and a fall from even a short height could cause an injury. A cat could also be startled by a small animal climbing on its back. Pets should be introduced slowly and always supervised, with the rabbit given a safe place to retreat.
The cat walks slowly and carefully, and the bunny holds on with calm confidence. Some friendships are all about going at the same pace. A smooth ride makes for a happy passenger.
