A Tortie and a Bunny Claimed the Basket of Warm Towels
A wicker basket full of fluffy towels has become a very cozy bed. A tortoiseshell cat with swirling black and amber fur tucks her chin on the edge, her green eyes half open and watchful, while a tan lop-eared bunny nestles in beside her with its ears draped over the folded towels. A pile of laundry, a mug and a pair of socks wait in the background, and the floor glows in warm light. The cat's tail curls over the rim of the basket and the bunny's nose twitches at the scent of fresh laundry, happy as can be.
Warm laundry is a favorite spot for many cats. Fresh towels hold heat and carry the comforting smell of home, and the soft pile is perfect for kneading and curling up. If your cat loves a laundry basket, make sure the fabric is clean and free of loose threads, and avoid fabric softeners or strong detergents that might irritate sensitive skin.
Rabbits, meanwhile, like to nest in soft, dry bedding. They enjoy burrowing, so a basket with a clean towel can be a comfortable hideaway. If you offer towels to your bunny, check them regularly for chewing, since swallowing fabric can be dangerous. Supervise any shared space between a cat and a rabbit.
The towels are warm, the room is calm and the two friends settle into the soft pile. A warm basket is a very small luxury. Folding can wait. Warm towels, warm friends.
