The Abyssinian Watched the Frost While the Puppy Kept Dozing
Delicate ice crystals fan across the glass, and the winter morning outside is soft and gold. Beside the frosted window, a cinnamon Abyssinian sits upright with her big ears forward and amber eyes gazing out, her coat glowing the same shade as the sunrise. Next to her, a golden puppy sleeps with his chin on the sill and eyes closed, his ears falling like soft curtains. Behind them, a knitted blanket, a potted plant and a wooden desk fill a warm room, making the cold on the other side of the glass feel very far away.
Frosty windows can be fascinating for cats, who love to watch for movement outside, though the glass itself can be chilly. A blanket on a window perch gives pets a warm barrier between their bodies and the cold surface. Abyssinians are active, intelligent cats who like to keep an eye on their surroundings, so a window seat is a welcome spot for them. In winter, keep pets warm and indoors, and ensure that drafts do not blow directly on their beds. Puppies in particular need a warm, dry place to sleep, so check that their bedding is thick enough.
Outside, the world may be frozen and silent. Inside, two friends share the warmest seat in the house and watch it all go by, with the sun slowly climbing higher.
