A Bengal Moved Into the Fluffy Bed and Five Ducklings Followed
The plush grey bed is round and deep, and it has more than one occupant. A spotted Bengal with a golden-brown coat lies curled along the back edge, her chin lowered and her green eyes half closed, while five fluffy yellow ducklings snuggle in front of her. Two of them rest right against her chest, and the other three sit with their bills tucked and their feet hidden under soft fluff. A cardboard box, a potted plant, a pair of jeans and a blue toy lie in the sunlit room behind them, giving it a comfortable, lived-in feel.
Fluffy round beds appeal to cats because they provide a sense of enclosure and warmth, and many cats like to curl up with their bodies fitted into the curve. A Bengal is an active cat, so a good rest in a soft bed is a nice change from climbing and play. If animals share a bed, make sure the bedding is washable, since ducklings are messy, and avoid beds with long loose fibers that could tangle small feet. Baby birds need a proper brooder for warmth and safety, and a cat should always be supervised nearby.
The bed may be made for a dog, but today it belongs to a cat and some very small friends. Everyone fits, and nobody wants to leave.
