An Abyssinian Hosted a Little Picnic for Six Fluffy Ducklings
A cheerful red and blue plaid blanket is spread across the floor, and a ruddy Abyssinian lies tucked in the corner of it, her green eyes alert and her paws folded neatly. Six ducklings crowd around her, some pressed together in a soft yellow heap and some standing apart, their bills pointed in different directions. In the background, a stuffed bunny, a pair of slippers, a wicker basket of laundry and a glowing woven lamp make the room feel warm and lived-in. The evening light is golden, and the blanket's checks add a homey, picnic-like feel to the scene.
Abyssinians are lean, athletic cats with a ticked coat and a reputation for curiosity and intelligence. They like to be involved in whatever is going on, which makes them wonderful, if busy, companions. A blanket on the floor can offer a warm, comfortable surface for pets and baby birds, but make sure that the fabric has no loose threads that could catch small feet. Ducklings also need a proper brooder with a safe heat source and fresh water, and they should be supervised around cats at all times. Your vet or a poultry keeper can help with setup.
The picnic is simple but sweet. A warm blanket, a friendly cat and a handful of fluffy company are all anyone needs, and the evening has all the time in the world.
