A Golden Retriever Wrapped Himself Around a Bunny in the Snow
Fresh snow dusts the ground, and a gentle Golden Retriever has curled himself around the smallest creature in the yard. His cream coat blends into the winter light, his long ears fall softly to the sides, and his eyes are warm and calm. Tucked against his chest and wrapped in the curve of his front leg, a small brown bunny named Clover sits snug, her ears folded and a few snowflakes caught on her fur.
Behind them stands a weathered wooden wall and a scattering of winter plants poking through the white. Bits of snow dot the grass around his paws. The dog holds himself perfectly still, as if guarding something precious.
Golden Retrievers are famous for being kind, patient, and gentle with almost everyone, which is why they are so popular as family dogs. They have thick double coats that handle cold weather well, but even they need a warm place to retreat after time outdoors. Rabbits also tolerate cold better than heat, but they must stay dry and out of wind, so a snowy yard is for short supervised visits only. After snowy play, dry your pets and check paws for ice balls or salt. Your vet can offer winter care tips for each species.
The winter air is cold, but this pair has the warmest friendship in the yard. It is a gentle picture of a big heart sheltering a small one.
