A Dalmatian Puppy and a Pony Climbed Into the Wheelbarrow
The wheelbarrow has become a front-row seat for two friends watching the sunset. A Dalmatian puppy with a brown collar sits upright, his black spots bold against his white coat and his pink tongue showing in a happy pant. Right beside him in the same wheelbarrow, Pepper the fluffy tan pony rests, his forelock hanging over his gentle eyes and his dark mane in shaggy strands.
Behind them, a wooden fence glows in the golden light, with a coiled hose, a pair of rubber boots, and a few gloves lying in the dirt. Hay is scattered in the bottom of the barrow. The warm light makes the whole yard look like an old photograph.
Dalmatian puppies are born pure white and develop their famous spots as they grow. They are lively, athletic dogs that need lots of exercise and training, and they do best in active homes. Dalmatians have a long history of running alongside horses and carriages, so a friendship with a pony fits their heritage nicely. A wheelbarrow is a fun photo prop, but is not a safe seat for a real animal, so enjoy this one as a picture. Whenever a puppy is around a horse or pony, keep both under adult supervision. Ask your vet for tips on caring for a young Dalmatian.
The sun sinks and the wheelbarrow stays put. A puppy and a pony watching the sky is a lovely way to end the day.
