The Poodle Puppy and the Pony Weren't Ready to Leave the Quilt

AI imagepoodle puppyponyquilt

Morning has not quite arrived, and the quilt is much too cozy to leave. An apricot Poodle puppy peeks out from under the cream-colored covers, his curly ears falling to either side of his round face and his eyes still sleepy. Right beside him, Pepper the brown pony rests his head on the bed with his eyes shut and his forelock falling over his cheek.

A lamp glows softly on the left, and a mug, a pair of glasses, and a stack of knitting supplies sit on the table behind them. Thick folds of quilting wrap around both friends like a big soft cocoon. The green bedspread underneath adds a calm color to the room.

Poodles are bright, active dogs that come in toy, miniature, and standard sizes. They have low-shedding, curly coats that need regular grooming, and they are famously easy to train. Puppies sleep a lot, often up to eighteen hours a day, and a cozy spot helps them rest. Quilts are comfortable, but check them regularly for loose threads that could be swallowed. A pony would never really fit in a bedroom, so this is a daydream for the imagination. When animals of different sizes share a space, an adult should always be watching. Your vet can suggest safe bedding for puppies.

The alarm can wait and so can the day. The softest mornings belong to those who are not in a hurry.
