A Puppy and a Pony Sat Together and Watched the Window Frost Over
Frost has drawn silver feathers across the windowpane, and two friends are watching the winter show. A German Shepherd puppy with a black saddle and tan legs sits on a chunky knit blanket, his big ears tilted and his dark eyes warm. Beside him, Pepper the shaggy pony rests with his chin close to the glass, his tousled brown mane falling over his eyes.
The room behind them is small and lived-in, with a shelf of books, a basket, a plant, and a gray blanket draped over a chair. A weak, bright winter light comes in. The cold outside only makes the blanket look softer.
German Shepherd puppies are smart, loyal, and bursting with energy, and they thrive when they have a job to do. Their big ears take time to stand up, and it is normal for them to flop for a while. They need early training and socialization to grow into confident dogs. In winter, keep outdoor time short and check paws for ice or salt. Ponies grow thick winter coats and are hardy, but they need shelter from wind and constant access to unfrozen water. Whenever a puppy and a pony share space, supervise them, and ask your vet for cold-weather care tips.
The frost keeps growing, and the two of them keep watching. A cold window is much friendlier with a friend beside you.
