The Border Collie and the Lamb Sit Together on a Frosty Morning
A frozen white world is visible through the window, and just inside, a black and white Border Collie sits upright with a calm, alert expression. Next to him, Dumpling the lamb sits close, her wool dense and soft, her eyes bright. Dried flowers hang on the wall and a basket of blankets sits beside them. The frost on the glass has formed feathery patterns. The two friends don't say anything, just look at the cold morning from the warmth of the room. A small breath of fog fades from the glass near the lamb.
Border Collies are widely considered one of the most intelligent dog breeds, and they have a famous focus known as the herding eye. They thrive when they have a task, from agility to obedience. In winter, when outdoor time is shorter, indoor games like hide-and-seek and puzzle toys can keep them mentally busy. Lambs have thick wool to stay warm, but young ones lose heat fast and need a dry, draft-free spot. Make sure any window seat is safe and stable, and keep pets away from drafty glass if they get chilled easily. Your vet can advise on winter care. A towel by the door and a warm bed help pets enjoy a cold season.
The frost slowly grows, but inside, the room stays warm. Outside, everything is frozen, and in here everything is gentle.
