One Wheelbarrow, One Fluffy Samoyed, and a Passenger Taller Than Expected
A rusty metal wheelbarrow filled with straw has found itself two passengers. A fluffy white Samoyed sits up with her dark eyes bright and her classic smile, and next to her a brown and white calf rests its head against the edge, pink nose near the dog's cheek. Behind them, a wooden fence and potted plants hold the soft light of a late afternoon.
Samoyeds are friendly, gentle dogs with that famous smiling expression. Bred to work with people in cold climates, they love company and are rarely aloof. Their thick white coat needs frequent brushing, and they can overheat easily in warm weather, so give them shade and cool water. A real wheelbarrow is not a safe ride for a young calf, which can be startled or fall, and farm tools should always be kept away from animals. Think of this picture as a bit of storybook whimsy. If you are caring for a calf, a vet can advise on safe housing, feeding, and handling.
Still, it is a warm picture. The Samoyed looks proud to be driving. The calf looks content and slightly dreamy, as if it were already on its way somewhere nice. Two animals in one small wheelbarrow, with all the room in the world beyond it, is a lovely thing to see, and they seem to know they have the best seats.
