A Silver Tabby and a Bunny Sat Close While Frost Covered the Glass
Frost is creeping across the windowpane, and a silver tabby British Shorthair is looking at it with bright amber eyes. Right next to her sits a plump gray lop-eared bunny, her ears hanging down and her whiskers still. They share a soft gray blanket on the sill, and the cold winter light makes their fur look silvery. A houseplant and a patch of hay sit near the wall behind them.
British Shorthairs are calm, sturdy cats with dense coats, and they tend to be relaxed with a quiet routine. In cold weather, any pet needs a warm, draft-free place to rest. Rabbits do surprisingly well in cooler temperatures but they struggle in heat, and indoor rabbits should still have a safe, quiet space away from drafts and sudden noises. Windows are cozy spots, but a cold sill can be too chilly for small animals, so always provide extra bedding. When a cat and rabbit are together, supervise closely and give the rabbit a hiding place she can go to when she wants a break. If you have any concerns about winter care, your vet can help.
The world outside is white and still, but this little window seat is warm. The two friends sit shoulder to shoulder, both gazing out, both entirely at ease. It is the kind of quiet companionship that does not need any words.
