The Maine Coon and the Bunny Took the Driver's Seat Together
An old black tractor seat sits in the corner of a barn, and two unlikely passengers have climbed aboard. A fluffy silver Maine Coon sits upright with his tufted ears alert and his gaze off to the side, and next to him a soft white lop-eared bunny rests with her ears folded back. A plaid shirt hangs on the wall, and a pair of green boots stands near a basket of hay.
Maine Coons are one of the largest domestic cat breeds, known for a friendly, easygoing personality and a luxurious coat that needs regular brushing. Despite their size, many are gentle with other pets when introduced carefully. Rabbits, like all prey animals, rely on hiding and quiet to feel safe, so a calm cat and a rabbit with a safe retreat can get along well. Barns can be great for rabbits, but they are also full of hazards, such as machinery and drafts, so a secure, clean space is best. Always supervise a cat and rabbit together, and ask your vet about safe housing and introductions for both.
The pair looks like they are waiting for a ride, or maybe just enjoying the view from the best seat in the barn. The big cat sits tall, the bunny sits small and together they make a very unusual crew. It looks like a good afternoon to go nowhere in particular.
