A Snow Bengal Cat Took the Tractor Seat, and Six Ducklings Joined Her
The old tractor has a new crew. A snow Bengal cat with a pale, marbled coat and striking blue-gray eyes perches on the worn black seat, one paw stretched out in front of her. Packed in beside her are six yellow ducklings, huddled in a fuzzy cluster against the curve of the seat. In the background, tools, a garden hose, and plants sit in the yard in the warm sunshine. Everyone on board looks completely pleased with the view from up here.
Bengals are athletic, curious cats with wild-looking spotted or marbled coats, and they usually love to climb, explore, and play. Many enjoy high perches, and a tractor seat is the sort of place a Bengal would find irresistible. They need plenty of activity and mental stimulation, such as climbing trees and puzzle feeders. Ducklings are social and like to stay close to a warm body, which helps them stay safe and comfortable. Farm equipment, however, can be dangerous for animals, so it should never be used as a play spot while it is running. Your vet can share more about keeping pets safe around machinery.
For a few moments, though, the tractor is parked in sunshine and the seat belongs to its small passengers. The cat keeps her chin high and her expression composed, like a driver who has chosen to enjoy the scenery, with six excited ducklings right beside her.
