A Grumpy-Faced Cat and a Lop Bunny Peeked Out From the Quilt
Morning has found them still wrapped in the quilt. A cream Exotic Shorthair with a squished, grumpy-looking face and copper eyes lies tucked in on the left, while Pudding the lop-eared bunny rests beside her with her long ears draped to either side. Both are blinking slowly, the way anyone does before the day has really started. Around them, the bedroom is pleasantly messy, with a gray sweater, a striped scarf, a mug, and a potted succulent on a shelf.
Exotic Shorthairs are often called the lazy person's Persian, because they have the round face and sweet nature of a Persian with a shorter, easier-care coat. Many are quiet, affectionate lap cats that like a soft spot and a calm home. Lop-eared rabbits are gentle, curious, and social, and they need a diet built around hay, fresh water, and leafy greens. Cats and rabbits can sometimes live peacefully together, but introductions should be slow and supervised, since a cat's instincts and a rabbit's fear can clash. Talk to your vet about how to introduce them safely.
Whatever the real mix of personalities, this little scene has the unmistakable look of a warm, lazy morning. The cat looks unimpressed with the day, the bunny looks quietly content, and the quilt is doing its very best to keep both of them there a little longer.
