A Siamese Cat and a Lop Bunny Made a Kingdom From a Pile of Leaves
The floor has been covered in crisp autumn leaves, and two friends are right in the middle of the pile. A seal point Siamese lies low with her paws in the leaves and her blue eyes on the bunny, her dark mask and ears sharp against the orange. Pudding the lop-eared bunny sits facing the camera with her ears flopped, her round body half buried in gold and amber. Slippers, a woven basket, and a shelf with a plant stand in the sunny room behind them.
A pile of leaves is a delight for many pets, with all those crinkly sounds and interesting smells. Cats love to pounce and hide in them, and rabbits like to nibble and burrow. Some leaves, however, can be harmful, so check that any leaves your pets reach are safe, free of pesticides, mold, or toxic plants, and keep an eye on what they eat. Rabbits should only eat leaves that are known to be safe, and a vet can tell you which ones. Always supervise outdoor play, and make sure both pets have a place to rest afterward.
The pair seem to have made the pile their own little kingdom of rustles. The cat has her eye on the bunny, and the bunny has her eyes on the leaves, and nobody seems in any hurry to leave. It looks like the very essence of autumn.
