A Goldendoodle and a White Cat Found One Soft Spot Big Enough for Two
Pressed together on a thick, fluffy cream bed, a red Goldendoodle and a white cat have settled in so close that the cat's pink nose nearly touches the dog's chin. The Goldendoodle's curls look like a freshly knit sweater, and the cat's half-closed amber eyes have the calm, satisfied look of someone who has found the perfect spot. Behind them, an unmade room full of blankets and shoes gives the scene a very real, homey feeling.
Goldendoodles are a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle, and they are generally known as friendly, social dogs who enjoy company. Their curly coats need regular brushing to prevent tangles, and many need professional grooming every so often. They also tend to love people and other pets, which can make them good matches for a calm cat. As with any pairing, give each animal its own bed, food, and quiet spot so that sharing is always a choice.
Look at how the cat's paw rests in front, white against the cream fleece, as though she is claiming the bed on behalf of both of them. The dog doesn't object. His eyes are soft, and his big nose is relaxed.
It is a peaceful sort of friendship, built on warm blankets and an understanding that there's always room for one more. The light is low and the room is still.
