A Silver Weimaraner Wraps Himself Around a Snow Bengal Cat
Patches of snow lie across the yard, and a silvery Weimaraner has curled his long body around a small cream-and-silver Bengal cat. The dog's chin hangs over the cat's back and his pale eyes look at the ground with a gentle, watchful air. The cat sits up straight, ears alert, her spotted coat the color of fresh snow and shadows. Dry leaves, a fence and the pale siding of a house are in the background. The winter air looks crisp and still.
Weimaraners are short-coated, athletic dogs that don't have much insulation against the cold. They tend to be loyal and sensitive companions, and many do well with a dog coat when temperatures drop. Snow Bengals have a pale, spotted coat and the same energetic personality as other Bengals, so they enjoy climbing, playing and exploring. In winter, pets should have shelter, water that hasn't frozen and limits on time outdoors. Paws can get chilled or irritated by ice and salt, so a quick wipe after walks helps. If you're worried about cold exposure, talk to your vet.
The picture has a protective feel to it. The Weimaraner's long body forms a kind of wall around the little cat, and she looks calm inside it. On a cold day, there's nothing quite like a friend who knows how to share their warmth.
