A Golden Retriever and a Scottish Fold Watch the World From the Window
Golden light pours through a window, and a cream-colored Golden Retriever has pressed up close to the glass. Beside him, a plump gray Scottish Fold sits on the sill with her paws tucked and her round face turned toward the view. Their eyes follow the same thing outside. A trailing houseplant and a ceramic mug sit on the windowsill and a few old cloths are heaped nearby. The dog's fur is lit up like a halo.
Golden Retrievers are among the most popular family dogs, known for their gentle, friendly and patient temperament. They love company and are famously good with other pets. Cats love windowsills because they are warm and give a view of birds, squirrels and passing cars, and many owners add a perch to make the spot safer and more comfortable. If a dog and a cat are sharing a window, it's a nice sign that they feel relaxed with one another. Keep screens secure, since a surprising bird can tempt a cat to leap, and ask your vet if you have any questions.
The window seems to be the best television in the house. The dog watches with a soft gaze, the cat watches with a steady one, and neither says a word. It's a calm and happy shared hobby, and the golden light on the sill only makes it better. Some friendships are built mostly out of watching the same view, and this looks like one.
