A Cream French Bulldog and a Black Cat Rest Under the Apple Tree
Under a leafy apple tree, a cream-colored French Bulldog lies with his chin on the ground and his big bat ears upright. Beside him, a glossy black cat is stretched out, her golden eyes half closed and her body pressed against his side. Small green apples hang from the branches above them, and the yard behind them includes a pale house with a window, a watering can and a pot of plants. Dappled light dances across their coats. It looks like a perfect, lazy day.
French Bulldogs have flat faces and a stocky build, so they can overheat quickly and shouldn't exercise heavily in warm weather. Shade, water and a cool resting spot are very important. They are affectionate, easygoing dogs who love company. Black cats are just as friendly and playful as any other color. Apple trees can be a hazard for pets: the seeds, stems and leaves contain compounds that can be harmful in large amounts, and fallen fruit can ferment. It's best to clear the ground and ask your vet if you have questions about pets and fruit.
The two of them look completely at ease. The dog is calm and the cat is content, and there's nothing in the day that needs doing. It is the perfect picture of a lazy afternoon in the shade. A breeze rustles the leaves, a green apple sways overhead, and nobody in the yard is in the least bit concerned.
