A Great Dane Sat in the Wheelbarrow. The Calf Squeezed in Beside Her.
Somebody parked the wheelbarrow by the door, and two passengers climbed aboard. A fawn Great Dane sits upright in the straw with her black mask, long muzzle, and floppy ears, looking straight at the viewer with a serious expression. Squeezed in beside her, a brown and white calf peers out with bright, curious eyes. Colorful toys, a basket, and a lamp glow in the room behind them. The Dane is Daisy and the calf is Maple. It is a funny, tender scene in an everyday room, and the Dane's solemn stare only makes it better.
Great Danes are among the tallest dog breeds, but they are usually mellow and affectionate indoors. They tend to be sensitive, and they respond best to gentle, consistent training. Because they grow quickly, large-breed puppies need balanced nutrition and careful exercise, so talk to your vet about the right plan.
Wheelbarrows are for hauling, not riding, so if you try something similar with a pet, make sure the surface is stable, the weight is balanced, and nothing is moving. A dog's safety always comes first, and some pets simply prefer to ride along only in the car or on the sofa.
Daisy is sitting like a queen on her throne, and Maple is happy to be the royal companion. It is a short trip, but they seem very pleased with the view. Nobody here is in any hurry to leave the wheelbarrow, and the straw is soft enough that they may never want to.
