A Very Small Dinosaur Was Spotted Stomping Down the Sidewalk This Halloween
Rawr! A tiny silver tabby has gone full dinosaur for Halloween. She stands on the sidewalk in a green hooded costume with soft spikes along the top and a little dino cape trailing down her back. Her striped face peeks out from under the hood, amber eyes glancing off to the side as if spotting her next victim, probably a pinecone. The path around her is scattered with fallen leaves, candy wrappers and a dropped blue dish, and a carved jack-o'-lantern grins from the edge of a porch where pots of mums and small pumpkins are lined up for the season.
Silver tabbies with this bold, swirled pattern are often associated with the American Shorthair, a sturdy, adaptable breed known for being easygoing and good with families. Still, Halloween can be overwhelming for any cat. Doorbells, costumes and crowds of strangers can make even a calm kitten nervous. Keeping cats indoors on Halloween night is a widely recommended precaution, both to prevent escapes and to protect them from pranks or traffic. Candy is another hazard: chocolate is toxic to cats, and wrappers can be swallowed, so pick them up quickly from floors and sidewalks.
For one quick photo, though, this little dino looks ready to rule the neighborhood. Watch out, trick-or-treaters, a fearsome beast is on the loose. A few minutes of dress-up, then back to regular kitten life.
