An Orange Kitten Picked a Fight With a Red Ribbon and Won
With one paw on the ribbon and one eyebrow raised, the orange kitten is clearly winning. She crouches beside an open box with red and green wrapping paper spilling out, a long red ribbon trailing across the carpet. Behind her a Christmas tree glows, a couch with a yellow blanket sits to the side and wrapped presents wait under the branches.
Ribbon is wonderful fun for a kitten and a hazard if swallowed. String, yarn and ribbon can cause serious problems in the digestive system, so always supervise play and put ribbon away afterward. A wand toy gives the same stalking and pouncing thrill without the risk. Orange kittens are often described as outgoing and affectionate, though personality varies. Short play sessions a few times a day help a kitten burn energy and build skills, and they also help redirect her away from things like decorations and cords.
Let's call her Marmalade. She's pouncing and swatting with all the seriousness of a champion wrestler. The ribbon never stood a chance, though it will certainly return for a rematch, and the box is obviously going to be hers by the end of the day. Kittens turn the simplest objects into the best games, which is one more reason the wrapping paper often ends up more popular than the presents themselves, every single year.
