A Husky Puppy Sat on the Sled Like She Was Born to Pull It
Sitting up straight on an old wooden sled, a black and white Husky puppy looks into the distance with one bright blue eye showing. Its ears are tall and pointed, its dark mask stands out against white cheeks, and its fluffy tail trails behind. Thin snow covers the yard, and a house with a wreath on the door and a blue bin and a few bare shrubs fill the background. It looks as if the puppy is waiting for the ride to start.
Siberian Huskies were bred to pull sleds in cold climates, so a puppy in a sled is a fitting sight. They are energetic, friendly, and talkative, and they need lots of exercise and mental activity. Their thick double coats keep them warm, but that also means they can overheat indoors, so keep the house cool and offer fresh water. Blue eyes are common in the breed, though eye color can vary. A husky pup also needs a secure yard, because they are well known for wandering, digging, and finding creative ways to escape.
We will call this young musher Juneau. She seems perfectly at home on the sled, with the snow in front of her and a long adventure ahead. For now, she waits with perfect patience, though we suspect she would pull the whole sled if given the chance. A husky on a sled just seems right.
