The Spookiest Corner of the Yard Has a Very Unspooky Visitor
The spookiest corner of the yard has a very unspooky visitor. A fluffy white Samoyed puppy peeks out from between two gray tombstone decorations, its round face, dark eyes, and black nose poking out like a little ghost who forgot to be scary. Wisps of fake cobweb and dry vines cling to the stones, and fallen leaves blanket the grass. Just behind, a carved jack-o'-lantern grins at the camera, another headstone leans in the background, and a wooden fence and the side of a house frame the scene in soft autumn light.
Samoyeds are friendly, gentle, and famously smiley dogs originally bred in Siberia to herd reindeer and pull sleds. Their thick, double white coat keeps them warm in cold weather but sheds heavily, especially during seasonal coat blows, so frequent brushing is a must. They are social dogs that like to be with their families and can become noisy or mischievous when left alone too long. Yard decorations should be sturdy and well anchored, since a playful puppy might knock them over. Any loose cobweb material or small plastic parts should be picked up so they do not get chewed.
In a yard full of ghouls and gravestones, this little cloud of fluff is the only one doing any haunting. And honestly, it is the kind of haunting anyone would welcome.
