Holiday Sweater Season Started Early, and This Kitten Set the Standard
Holiday sweater season has officially begun, and this kitten is setting the standard. A seal point Siamese kitten sits on a soft gray couch, wearing a cozy brown knitted sweater with orange accents and a little turkey patch sewn onto the front. Her cream face, dark chocolate ears and paws, and striking blue eyes give her a look of quiet dignity, as if she's posing for the family holiday card. Behind her, a plaid napkin, small pumpkins, and a row of decorative gourds line the windowsill, and a gray throw blanket spills over the cushions.
Most cats don't need clothing, since their fur keeps them warm and comfortable. A few, such as hairless breeds or cats recovering from surgery, may benefit from a soft sweater, but many cats find clothes stressful or restricting. If you do dress up a cat for a quick holiday picture, choose something lightweight that fits loosely without pinching under the legs, has no small dangling parts, and comes off easily. Watch body language closely: freezing in place, flattening ears, or trying to wriggle free are clear signs to remove it right away. Never leave clothing on a cat unattended.
This little Siamese seems surprisingly calm in her festive knitwear, though she'll probably be glad to shed it after the festivities. Either way, she's the most stylish guest of the season.
