The Roast Turkey Came Out Golden. One Tiny Leopard Noticed Immediately.
Golden brown, glistening, and garnished with herbs and orange slices, the roast turkey is the star of the show, and this Bengal kitten knows it. Sitting right at the edge of the wooden table, the little cat's spotted brown coat looks almost like a tiny leopard's, and her golden-green eyes are fixed on the platter with total focus. Around her, the feast is laid out in style: a block of butter, a basket of rolls, fresh rosemary, a bowl of cranberries, linen napkins, and fruit on the counter behind. Family photos hang on the wall, and late sunlight floods through the window.
Bengals are known for their wild-looking spotted or marbled coats and their energetic, curious personalities. They're often described as smart and highly active, and many love climbing and investigating anything new. Around a holiday turkey, that curiosity needs managing. Cooked bones can splinter, and fatty skin and gravy may upset a small stomach. Watch out for the string used to tie the turkey, too: cats are drawn to string, and if swallowed, it can cause serious intestinal problems that need urgent care. Dispose of trimmings and twine in a sealed trash can. A bit of plain, boneless, unseasoned turkey meat is a much safer treat.
This little leopard has clearly picked her target. Whether she gets a taste or not, she's already decided the turkey was the best part of the holiday.
