Someone Hollowed Out the Pumpkin. A Bichon Puppy Moved Right In.

Where a candle would normally go, a fluffy white Bichon Frise puppy has taken a seat. The pumpkin has been hollowed out and carved with a triangle nose and a wide, toothy grin, and the puppy's round face rises above the rim like a very small ghost in a very orange house. The jack-o'-lantern sits on a dark doormat, with a porch, planters and dried leaves in the background.

A hollow pumpkin makes a snug little bed, but it's worth keeping safety in mind. A carved pumpkin should never hold a real flame while a pet is near, and an LED tea light is a much safer way to give your jack-o'-lantern a glow. Carved pumpkins also start to soften and grow mold after a few days, so don't let a puppy chew them. Wipe out any sticky pumpkin pulp from a dog's fur before it dries.

Bichon Frises are small, sturdy dogs, usually friendly and playful, who like being close to their people. Their coat is made of soft curls that grow continuously, so a regular grooming routine matters. Because they are so compact, they often fit in places that surprise their owners, from laundry baskets to flowerpots to, apparently, pumpkins.

The puppy seems to approve of this new home. A few dried leaves, a warm doormat and a pumpkin big enough for one make a pretty good Halloween setup.
