A Cream Kitten Blended In With the Harvest Display

AI imagecream kittenhalloweenharvest porch

Tucked in among the pumpkins, gourds and tall corn stalks, a pale cream kitten sits looking off to the side with round, curious eyes. Her coat is a soft creamy shade that blends into the straw, and her pink nose and ears add the faintest blush of color. A pair of work gloves, a watering can and some dark boards frame the harvest display on the porch, with a light glowing high on the wall.

Harvest decorations can be a great hiding place for kittens, but some are risky. Dry corn husks and stalks can be sharp or splintery, and decorative gourds are not meant to be eaten. Some plants used in fall displays, such as certain ornamental plants, can also be toxic to cats, so check a plant list or ask your vet before bringing anything new within paw's reach. A safe cat bed nearby is a nice way to give your kitten her own cozy spot.

Cats love hiding places because they feel safe when they can see out while staying tucked away. A box, a bag or a pile of straw does the trick. For kittens, a hiding place is also a way to cope with new situations, and letting them have one is a sign of good care. If she retreats, give her time and space and she will usually come out when she is ready.

For now, this little kitten looks perfectly at home. She might be a decoration herself, a fuzzy cream pumpkin among her orange cousins.
