An Apricot Poodle Puppy Slipped Away to Nap in the Pile of Coats
Curled up in a nest of coats on the bed, an apricot Poodle puppy sleeps with her head tucked against her paw. A green jacket, a tan quilted coat and a brown blanket make a soft bed, and the pup's curly fur looks like a little cloud against the fabric. Out of focus in the background, a window and a Thanksgiving table with glasses, pumpkins and dishes complete the scene.
A pile of guests' coats is a favorite napping spot for dogs, since the clothes smell like people and make a warm nest. During a party, a puppy can easily slip away for a rest, and it's a good sign that she has found a quiet place. Still, be careful about what's in the coat pockets: gum, mints, medicine or tissues can be harmful if a dog finds them, so keep pockets out of reach.
Poodles are smart and sensitive, and many enjoy quiet time after a busy day. A party can be overwhelming for a puppy, and a quiet retreat helps. Make sure she has water and a way to get out of the room, and let her rest undisturbed. Remember to check the whole house before guests leave so she doesn't get left in a closed room.
She's out cold, dreaming of whatever puppies dream of. The party goes on without her.
