The Smallest Ghost in the House Is Orange and Has Very Round Ears
A white sheet drapes over the top of a small orange longhair kitten, and two round eye holes are cut just above where her ears poke through. The sheet falls in soft folds over her body, while her golden eyes look off to one side as if she hears something. She is sitting on a gray blanket and a cushion, and behind her a pumpkin and a plaid blanket sit in a cozy living room.
A ghost costume is a classic, but it is also one of the trickiest for pets. A loose sheet can slip over the eyes, tangle around the legs, or make it hard for a kitten to see where she is going. If you try it, keep it very short, stay close, and make sure she can move comfortably. A gentler idea is a small bandana or a pumpkin-themed collar.
Kittens often love hiding under blankets, which is natural. A soft cover gives them a sense of safety, and many enjoy pouncing from under it. A blanket fort or a cardboard box lets them do the same thing without the risk of a costume. Give your kitten chances to play and rest in quiet spaces, especially during the busy Halloween week.
For now, this tiny ghost looks like she is listening to something far away. Her sheet is a bit big, her ears are a bit round, and her spooky mission is simply to be adorable.
