The Ragdoll Sat Very Still at the Window All Christmas Eve Evening
Snow is drifting past the window, and a cream-colored Ragdoll named Marshmallow has claimed the best seat in the house. Her front paws rest on the wooden sill, her long fur glows in the soft evening light, and her pale blue eyes follow every flake. A garland droops from the wall behind her, and the room has the cozy, lived-in look of a house that has been busy all day.
Ragdolls are known for being gentle, people-loving cats, and many of them are happy to follow their family from room to room. Windows are a favorite spot for almost any cat, because birds, falling snow, and passing cars give an indoor pet something to watch. A sturdy perch or a cushioned sill can make that habit more comfortable, and a long-haired cat like this one also benefits from regular brushing in the dry winter months.
Winter weather outdoors is a good reason to make the indoor view interesting. A bird feeder outside a window, a warm blanket on the sill, and a few quiet minutes of watching can be a satisfying evening for a cat who is perfectly content to stay inside.
Marshmallow does not seem to mind that the snow is far too cold to touch. She is watching it the way some people watch fireworks, completely absorbed, with nowhere else to be on a calm Christmas Eve.
