A Saint Bernard Puppy Showed Up on the Porch Dressed as a Cowboy
A big-pawed Saint Bernard puppy sits on a porch in a brown cowboy hat, a denim vest, and a red bandana. The hat sits a bit crooked on his huge head, and his round, dark eyes look gentle and a little goofy. Behind him, a jack-o'-lantern, hay, and mums give the porch a cheerful harvest look. Hay and a small pumpkin lean against the porch rail, and a few cobwebs decorate the post beside him for good measure.
Saint Bernards are giants with kind hearts, famous for their history as mountain rescue dogs in the Alps. They are usually gentle and patient, and puppies grow fast, so controlled exercise and a good diet are important. Large breeds also need joint-friendly habits, so ask your vet about the right approach.
Even a loose-fitting costume can be a challenge for a growing puppy. Hats and vests should not get tight as he grows, and he should never be left alone in a costume. Treats and patience help him learn to enjoy the outfit, and a short photo session is usually plenty.
We can call him Tex. He looks ready to head off into the sunset, or at least to the nearest bowl of water, with his hat only slightly out of place. Whoever his rider is, this cowboy is clearly the gentlest one in the whole Wild West, and probably the fluffiest as well.
