Pudding Sat at the Door With the Wreath Like a Tiny Guard
With soft, wrinkled white fur and ears that stick out slightly to the sides, the Bulldog puppy sits in the entryway looking up at the camera with serious dark eyes. A thick wreath of pine, pinecones, and red berries hangs on the old green door behind him, and a brass knob gleams nearby. Coats, scarves, boots, and a bag of gifts are tucked along the wall of this welcoming mudroom. His tiny pink nose and the soft red edges of his ears give him a gentle, sweet look.
Bulldog puppies are friendly, calm, and loving, and they like to stay close to the people they love. They can also be stubborn, so early training with patience and treats is important. White-coated dogs may be more prone to sunburn and skin sensitivity, so ask your vet about skin care, and keep an eye on any red or irritated patches.
Doorways are a great place to practice manners. Teaching a puppy to sit and wait before going through the door builds good habits that last. The mudroom can also have hazards, like small shoes, boots, or wreath materials that a puppy might chew, so keep them out of reach. Pine needles and berries can upset a puppy's stomach if swallowed. A rug by the door gives him a comfy place to wait whenever someone is coming or going.
We'll call him Pudding. He's guarding the door with all his might, though a belly rub would probably win him over.
