A Dalmatian Popped Up Out of the Jack-o'-Lantern Like a Spotted Surprise
A Dalmatian has his white paws hooked over the rim of a giant carved pumpkin and is looking out like a spotted jack-in-the-box. His black ears, brown eyes and pink nose are all aimed toward the viewer, while the pumpkin's triangle eyes and jagged grin glow orange. A living room with a sofa, plant and slippers spreads out behind them.
Dalmatians are energetic, athletic dogs famous for their spots and their history of running alongside carriages. They are intelligent, playful and often need lots of daily exercise. Puppies are born white and develop their spots as they grow, and each dog has a unique pattern, which makes every Dalmatian a little one-of-a-kind.
A real pumpkin that has been carved is fun to look at, but it is not a good place to leave a dog unsupervised. Candles inside are a fire hazard, and pumpkin that has sat out for days can grow mold. If you want a similar photo, use a battery light, make sure the pumpkin is clean and sturdy, and let him hop out when he is done. Plain, cooked pumpkin in small amounts can be a dog-friendly snack, but ask your vet first.
The pumpkin has a face, and so does the dog, and it is hard to say which is more mischievous. Either way, it is a very festive duo.
