A Tiny Maltese Pirate Is Ready to Guard the Treasure in the Yard
A fluffy white Maltese stands on the lawn in a pirate hat with a skull and crossbones, a black eye patch and a little leather-look vest. One eye peers out at the camera with a serious, sweet expression. Fall leaves cover the grass, a jack-o'-lantern grins from the steps, and a spider web is draped over the bushes behind him.
Maltese dogs are small, gentle, affectionate toy dogs known for their long white coats. They are lively, playful and often very attached to their families. Their silky fur needs regular brushing, and because they are so small, they can be easily chilled, so a short outing in cool fall weather is wise.
When dressing a small dog, make sure the pieces are secure but don't squeeze. A hat can be tricky, so check that the chin strap isn't tight and that it doesn't block his sight. An eye patch should not touch his eye or restrict vision, so use one only for a quick photo and remove it right away. Offer treats and praise and let him tell you when he's had enough.
Whatever treasure he is hunting, he looks ready for it. This little pirate may be the fluffiest captain on the seven seas. If anyone asks, the treasure is a biscuit, and he is definitely guarding it. Next time, he might ask for a parrot to go with the outfit.
