A Bichon Puppy Found the Lowest Ornament and Gave It a Serious Look
A cloud of white curls sits on the wooden floor beside a Christmas tree, and in front of it hangs a shiny red ornament, just at the right height. The Bichon Frise puppy has his nose close to the bauble and a thoughtful frown on his face. Behind him, a sofa piled with toys and blankets, a mug on a side table and a pair of shoes complete the cozy room.
Bichon Frises are small, cheerful dogs with fluffy white coats and a playful personality. They are friendly and social, love to be the center of attention, and often enjoy learning tricks. Their curly coat needs regular grooming to prevent matting, and they do well with early training and lots of affection.
Ornaments are very tempting to puppies, but they can be dangerous. Glass ones can shatter and cut his mouth or paws, and small ones can be swallowed. Hang the lowest ornaments carefully, using unbreakable ones where he can reach, and keep hooks, tinsel and string off the lower branches. Check that the tree is stable, and talk to your vet if he swallows anything.
For now, he is simply inspecting the shiny red ball. It is a very serious investigation, and the ornament holds still like a good suspect. If anyone nudges it, he may leap back with a surprised hop, and then come right back for another sniff.
