A Yellow Lab Puppy in Reindeer Antlers Sat Still on the Snowy Porch
A pale yellow Lab puppy sits on a porch dusted with fresh snow, wearing a headband with felt reindeer antlers. His soft brown eyes look sweetly at the camera, his ears hang like velvet and his nose is a glossy chocolate brown. A wreath hangs on the dark door behind him, and a porch lamp glows warm in the dusk.
Labrador Retrievers are among the most popular dogs in America, and for good reason. They are friendly, outgoing and eager to please, and puppies are often bouncy and full of curiosity. Labs generally love food and water, and they need regular exercise and training to turn that energy into good manners. They also love being part of the family.
Antlers and other headbands can be fun for pictures, but they should be used briefly. Make sure the band is soft, fits comfortably and does not block his eyes or ears. Remove it if he paws at it, and don't leave him alone with it, since felt and elastic can be chewed and swallowed. In snow, keep outdoor time short for a puppy, wipe his paws afterward, and check with your vet about cold-weather care.
He sits very still, a cheerful little reindeer-in-training. Whatever Santa has planned, this Lab already looks ready to pull the sleigh. The wag of his tail may well knock the antlers sideways, which would only make him cuter.
