Bruno Sat Beside the Cocoa and Gave It a Very Long Look
With huge bat ears pointed up and dark, serious eyes aimed at the camera, a brindle French Bulldog sits beside a mug of hot cocoa. The marshmallows have melted into a creamy swirl, and the table around the mug holds a glasses case, a pen, a book, and a bit of greenery. Behind him a sage throw blanket is draped over the couch, and a cozy winter morning glows through the window.
French Bulldogs are compact, affectionate dogs with a flat face that gives them a lot of character. That flat face also makes some of them prone to breathing difficulty, so they do best with gentle exercise, cool rooms, and a harness instead of a collar for walks. They love being near their people and often follow family members from room to room. A vet can tell you what to watch for in your own dog.
The cocoa, of course, is for people. Chocolate is harmful to dogs, and marshmallows are mostly sugar, so a shared sip is a bad idea. Keep warm drinks out of reach, partly so a dog does not drink them and partly to avoid spills and burns. We will call this stout fellow Bruno. He is sitting calmly and merely studying the situation, as if the mug were a puzzle that needed careful thought. It is a cozy moment, and he has no plans to be anywhere else.
